I would have to say Sega genesis because it got me into gameing and i got it as a free gift from my cousin of mine back in 1997. I remember playing all those classic games i enjoy as a kid like Sonic the Hedgehog, Toy Story, Lion King, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist, Toe Jam & Earl, Jurassic Park, Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle and a few other games i have that i don't remember. I also remember playing Mortal Kombat II on the genesis at a friend house and it was so cool riping people heads off!

SNES, for sure....many classics on it, and the gameplay of most classics is simple and pure.

Oh i forgot about the PS1 and N64. I still remember when i got a PS1, it was X-mass gift back in 1998 and i had great times with it. I have many fond memories playing games like Medievil, Digimon world 1-3, Final Fanatasy 7, Metal Gear Solid, Rampage World Tour, Spyro The Dragon, Twisted Metal (I didn't own it but i play it at my friend house and it was awesome), Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Dino Crisis, Chrono Cross, Gex and some other games as well.
For my N64, i had great times with that thing and no other system had such great mutiplayer at the time. Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mortal Kombat 4, Super Smash Bros, Golden Eye, Mario Party 1-3, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Pokemon Snap, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Pokémon Stadium 1-2 which ruled my childhood. I remember Resdient Evil 2 creep the shit out of me when i was 8 or 9!

Also, does anyone else remember the Comodore 64? I didnt have one for long (a friend gave it to us) but I remember loving it and playing it everyday! There was this really cool Scooby Doo game for it at the time. I guess you bunch of 13 and 15 year olds dont remember the early years of gaming, like the pre-SNES era.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the original NES yet. Brings back a lot of good memories. SMB3, Crystallis, Legend of Zelda, TMNT2, and even the first FF game just to name a few.
Other than that, I'm also gonna have to say the ps1. So many amazing games to even list here.

wow. That's exactly what it is for me. Sonic, Lion King, TNMT, spider man. Mortal Kombat. Jeez, are we brothers or something? :p
It was that first, then my best friend got a ps1, and I was over there every other day playing Harry Potter, Spyro, Tony Hawk (OMG, send a LOT of time with this :P) and then I finally got one of my own, and I got tekken 3 (me and my sister's favorite game at the time), the three spyro games, uhh... crash bandicoot (just the first two), harry potter (I wasn't that into the movies, and I hadn't read the books yet, but they were fun :P) and a couple others that I can't think of.
And at my other friend's house, he had a N64, and we played lots of super smash, rampage (lots of that) and 007. We never played it too much, but I enjoy the good 'ol 64 games on my Wii nowadays :).
The first friend got a ps2 when it first came out (first day :P) and we played 007 Nightfire SO MUCH. There were other games, but I forgot what they were.
When I got my very own ps2 (a couple years later), my friend brought over nightfire a ton (One time at my birthday party, me and about seven of my friends came over and we took turns playing 4player and we ganged up on my least favorite friend there because he was being a douchbag, and he ended up crying because we kicked his ass so hard :p), and I had Tony Hawk 3 (best one in the series IMO), tekken 4, and eventually got games like Kingdom Hearts, Guitar Hero 1 (don't have it anymore, but I have a HUGE itching to play all those old songs), and a bunch more.
I guess that's more then you needed to know, but it was nice remembering all that shtuff :D

Dammit you beat me to it. :P
Anyways, the original NES brings back the good memories for me. It had most of the classic games that had a huge impact on the gaming industry. I loved that teenage mutant ninja turtles game. XD

I have a picture of me playing Atari 2600 back in February 1983. It's hard to see in the picture, but I'm playing Combat. I have a lot of fond memories of playing Moon Patrol, Centipede, Berzerk, Pitfall! and Missle Command among others. I don't think it was until I had NES though that I began to really become a nerd! Muwahahahaa!

Oh, that piece of shit? Yeah, I remember that.
I pretty much had the same experience, I remember playing some space jet fighter (whatever) game and getting hooked for 2 hours straight. Oh and mario tennis too, but my neck started hurting so bad that I put the game system down and never played it again.
But yeah, NES rules. I picked it up again today just to play Lone Ranger, Megaman 6, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Solomon's Key, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Duck Hunt among others. Heck, I even remember playing shitty games like Friday the 13th and Top Gun back in the day. (Though I did come close to beating Top Gun)
NES and N64, the only consoles I had (Have) exept GC and Wii.
Golden eye for N64
My brother traded in his LoZ: OoT for that game.
Or maybe it was an other Bond Game... Hmm..
Well, I played it all the time, becouse we only had that game and Mario 64 to it.
But we alwayes borrowed Mario Kart and Smash Bros

I would play the Xbox Ninja Gaiden games but they are apparently stupidly difficult... i HATE hard games. I don't suck at games or anything, but I absolutely detest games that will piss me off, especially hack-n-slashers like Devil May Cry 3 and God of War. Well, I love those games, but they really get on my nerves at times.
