The game is so good it deserves a whole thread to be commented on and reviewed :D anyway i fell in love with this game as soon as i got the collectors edition and faceplate. i got it yesterday and look at me now im a chainsawing, sniping, gunning squirrel/locust thing in the game (*sniff* they grow up so fast)
another thing you can do post your favorite maps and weapons/weapon your best at (3 at most)

well i give the game 11/10 for awesome graphics, mind blowing multiplayer (literally ;) ) great single player, lots of gore and many other things that i dont want to list at this point

favorite maps: war machine and elevation
favorite/best at weapons: chainsaw, shotgun and (on some lvls) snipers

and if you have a 360 and not this game i feel sorry for you :(
IF you have no 360 at all i feel even more sorrier :(

even though i hate mine and it barely plays disks anymore, i'm glad i have it.

hehe i'm pretty good at it so watch it (or ill chainsaw yo ass :p) plus i've routed all the maps and i know them very well
any way thx for proving my point wicked people who don't listen to me will definitely listen to you. me and RB played multiplayer for a good 4-5 hours straight! :eek: its really awesome i've had to mow down at least 100 locust with a chainsaw so far and im only on act 3 out of 5. I'm really obsessed with this game ;)

im 14 too and I play it. but the sad thing my bro can't play any M game except Halo 2 and the first one...... He's 10...... and he's obsessed with online Halo 2 and Runescape. i'm pissed at it he hogs my live and gets me bad feedback.

gears of war looks pretty awesome, and i def want to try it out sometime, i wont deny that, but then again i dont have a 360 and i think twilight princess has a better advantage because it is no doubt the greatest launch title in the history of vgs, plus its so innovative and spectacular and it will get the wii started.

Story - 8.0

Most likely the only downfall the game has is the story. The story had the potential of being something pretty special, but it seems to move too fast for its own good. Even though you'll know what's going on, you won't have any emotional connection or care for any of the characters that are involved. Still, due to the lack of story, some cinematics are done very nicely and almost give you the since of deep sympathy for a KIA.

Graphics - 9.5

Your eyes will absolutely bleed throughout the entire game, and yes, that's a good thing! Everything, even down to the smallest detail, is rendered into perfection. Also, the Unreal Engine 3.0 shows off some of the best blood splatters in the history of games! Occasionally, the graphics will dip and there'll be some texture pop-ins; something we are all used to see in other high graphical games.

Sound - 9.5

Nothing much wrong with the sound. A very well-done music score and pulse-pounding gun blasts. In some cases, some characters' voices will seem a bit generic and redundant. But what's to complain about when you can hear the sweet sound of a chainsaw anytime you want!?

Gameplay - 9.0

I, for one thing, like change! You'll never find a game like Gears anywhere else which has so much emphasis on cover and the actual sense of having your back against a wall and desperately trying to keep yourself alive. In campaign, even though great, the gameplay will slowly start to feel the same, but has enough immense battles to keep the gameplay sharp and content. In multiplayer, it's a complete rush; most of the time you'll find yourself constantly glued to the situation. Some points on the multiplayer are a little disappointing, like the lack of customization with what most are used to with Halo 2, and there isn't much multiplayer gametypes, but yet it's enough to keep you wanting more.

Overall - 9.5

So much was riding on this game, and thank God there was because this game deserved every bit of it. Everything about the game has something compelling for pretty much any gamer out there; art, beauty, and fun. So be free and enjoy the life of gaming, for now we rejoice!

My neighbor recently picked up a 360 along with GoW and invited me over for co-op and i have to say it was a blast. On par with Halo's co-op IMHO. The only downside was that he doesn't have a HD set-up but the game still looked and sounded amazing so i can't begin to imagine how it would be on a home theater.

To those that own a 360, what type of tv/audio setup are you using?
