The surprising FFXIII megaton revelation isn't enough to hide that it was disappointing.

Some of those games looked stunning, I personally really liked the look of Fable II, RE5 and Fallout 3. Some of the Wii inspired demonstrations were embarrassing. I like the Wii of course and I don't think Microsoft can secure a significant fraction of the non-gamer market.

From the start, the Wii was being advertised as a casual machine, it has a much more appealing image to non-gamers. A few features on the 360 won't be enough to shift the market in their favor especially considering that the 360 has already established itself as a console for more hardcore gamers.

I wouldn't say I was disapointed.

We got Fable 2 news, RE5, Fallout 3 Exclusive DLC. We were also treated to an all new dashboard and, of course, FFXIII!
I was expecting more new games to be announced and a lot less coverage on the casual stuff, Duffy singing for 5 minutes was an example. Most people that were there probably wanted to see a lot more hardcore games on Microsoft's show. Still more stuff is probably yet to be announced so we'll see. The handling of the show wasn't very good.


Portal 2
I really like Portal but let's not get ahead of ourselves, it isn't the second game. More like an expansion pack, even if I didn't use the best term.

The little we saw of Gears 2 was impressive. I was checking out some of the Gametrailer vids and interviews along with reading the Epic forums and they've added bot support. ^^d

And for the record, I have all three next-gen+handheld systems. So, it's a bit of a win-win-win-win-win situation for me. And, it does really give you a new outlook on things. It's about the games., not the system it's on.

The slew of titles we saw were expected. Lots of casual game announcement, footage/videos for sequels that were pre-announced, some updates on services, e.t.c.

A typical MS E3 conference. Playing it safe.

But what dissapoints me the most was that their biggest secret was FF13 going multi-plat, rather than showing some entirely new game. Quite a biggie, but I was personally looking forward to see some new IPs in action (esp. Alan Wake).

As a huge Final Fantasy fan i would say that i'm happy it on the Xbox360. I know something like this would happen and a lot of fans (like my self) don't have the money for a PS3. A lot of fanboys on Gamespot/Gamefaqs are bitching about it because they think the series should be on the Sony systems only :rolleyes:. Sqaure Enix sports all systems and i'm gald that they are doing this.

A FF13 spin off for the Wii will most likey be next ;).

I am excited about Gears of War 2, Fable 2, and RE5. They looked real clean and sharp. But all those dancing/singing/get off your ass trying to steal nintendo's spotlight in the industry get up and move games, look corny. Lips doesn't look too bad, but another scene it, and that "you're in the movies!" game. Which looks horrible :(

And I don't know if I really like this avatar thing. It's not at all that much like Miis cuz you have more options in clothes and such, but I dont know it seems a little childish, and childish doesn't really represetn the Xbox. I think they're really trying to get into family gaming like the Wii has, so they can sell more than the Wii.

The series was never part of sony, The series was for Nintendo 1987 - 1995. The series only for the PSX because Squaresoft chould not make there games for the N64 system due to lack of memory.
