I said this before, other members said this before....but I think it's not going to happen if only an couple people want it change...

Also you talk to REED about it, since he's the only one that can change it.

i think it would be fair to allow that.
i mean, the people who know that retaliation votes will get then banned won't do it, right? and if Reed knows that, whats stopping him from making peoples ratings public?
i dunno...thats just how i see it...

I don't mind making my Ratings public, I say what they are anyway but sometimes I like to keep it private too; theres that thing at moment where typical users are getting upset about getting typical scores like 3s when thats a good score and I can just imagine people doing their rating huntings, to see who gave what box what and they'll be loads of grudges because some one wanted a 4.5 instead of a normal 3 as silly as it sounds. There are grudges now just imagine how many grudges there be if the votes were'nt private.

I do see a lot of sense in why people's votes are private.

Seeing as how people have a tendancy to over rate boxes as of late and sometimes even under rate them, i think the rating systems should be axed. I say just leave the comments so that way people can leave their praise and/or critiques.

I've stopped rating boxes altogether. Personally i'm getting tired of people complaining about the scores they get. Seriously, what kind of egotist needs to have a numerical score next to their boxes?

actually, you have a really good point there...
the only reason i get pissed when people underrate my boxes, is because i put more effort into them than they could imagine, and they just find one little thing to cut the score for, and i think it's bullshit.
not to mention those ball-less bastards that dont even say why they couldn't give it a 5. [/rant] :p
there really would be a lot less bitching if we just got rid of the rating system but then there goes part of the site, you know?
i dunno...i'm kinda 50/50 on the whole thing...

My heart agrees with you:)
But there is'nt more worse than getting up to see one of your own-made boxes average below 3 because you did'nt notice there was something that would really peeve everyone off, or vice versa with great boxes its more pressurizing and less care-free with the rating system. Back in the day people would just say 'it sucks' or 'its good' or 'its the best' and it was a welcoming, nicer, attitude most people got because there was never a number telling you, you sucked and it was brief.
I do see the big entertaining and competition aspect of the rating system though.

You guys are right. Its what you think. But i think of the ratings as a way for you to see what people thik and if its a 5, Great. If its whatI get 1.83, I ignore it and try to improve. I always say what I post cause it gives the author a general idea on how to please the public. a skill i have yet to achive.
