The first Rammstein album. To be honest, it actually kinda sucks. The riffs are really repetitive and the sons just feel a lot longer than they actually are. The production isn't very good, but I can forgive that because it was made in '95 and they weren't very big then.

They're pretty solid, I think sometimes they fall into a rut of "let's just go to the metalcore standby" with their riffs/lyrics/gang vocals and whatnot but they have some flashes of brilliance. The breakdown pattern in Unstoppable, for example, is splooge-inducing. Like, the first time I heard it I was like WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED

Since I have never said why I hated this album, it's because they move to quickly between the slow and the fast parts, especially in Not the American Average and also in I was Once, Perhaps a Cowboy. There is no flow between the two and it just goes slow abruptly.

I recommend it only if you will be in the mood to listen to it. The Wall really isn't an album to be listening by pulling a separate track out of a hat or skipping a song. Since The Wall is a concept album, it's best to listen to the whole thing seamlessly.

Well yeah, I get enough enjoyment out of listening to ABITW because of how catchy and jazzy it is.

Don't get me wrong. Maybe I don't post in this thread enough.. but I don't just listen to heavy music. I'm a big fan of the jazz-fusion sound along with acoustic rock, plenty of softer things. I absolutely love Dream Theater's softer songs.. probably more than their heavier songs in reality.

The album from what I've listened to has a war reference. The main character lost his dad from a war "Daddy's flown across the ocean / leaving just a memory / A snapshot in the family album / daddy, what else did you leave for me?"

The whole album is about the main character losing his mind. And he want's to get away from his woes by isolating himself building an imaginary wall to block himself from society, which causes him to lose his mind even further.

Glad the CD leaked today, as I got ripped off (Along with a thousand other people) last night. Someone had posted a "Leak" but 2/3 of the songs were just different songs by different bands and such, other 3th were the songs previously released but in shitty quality.

This track is alright, the main riff sounds a lot like one from The Comedown by Bring Me The Horizon.

On 'Friends Are Friends For Never' now. Probably my favorite one off the CD so far. but this one has had time to grow on me because it's been out for a few weeks.

The song I was listening to was Beyond Forlorn, witch I didn't think was THAT bad but it wasn't great. I just listened to forced to rock and I see what you mean, I'll probably skip this album.

@Ryan: My reaction was to the name only. Seriously. It's like calling a band "Starving Jew" or "Enslaved Nigger". It's just retarded shock value with no artistic merit.

Teeth Machine tears me a new bunghole every time I listen to it. Listen closely and you'll pick up on new things every time you give it a spin. It's still blowing my mind. The solo in Hour of Rats is absolute gold.

Throwing them into the deathcore pit is unfair because they're so much more than that.

I know, but I don't really listen to much deathcore. I've only really heard the generic crap... BMTH, Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, old JFAC, etc. I know there's a lot of great DC bands out there, but you get the idea. I didn't really want to group them with all the shitty stuff, but I didn't really want to call them Technical Death Metal or anything like that, you know?

Oh, and btw, I'm probably not picking up on the little details because the volume was low and my ears are still ringing from last night :o

Interesting record. Very interesting. The LP as a whole can be a bit...I guess monotonous, but there are some highlights. This song is one of them; I especially enjoyed this song and the closing track "Ponytail". Panda Bear really develops a distinct style on this LP, but like I said, it can get repetitive.
