Predictions of the Games of tomorrow

Ok, so we've gotten Brawl, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Galaxy, and many more. We already know that many other games are almost ready like MGS4, GTA IV, Mario Kart Wii, Final Fantasy XIII, and so much more. But what about the games that haven't been announced?

Ever since Prime 3 came out, I've always thought about what will be Retro Studios next project, as well as Bungie after they've finished the Halo trilogy, Rockstar after they release GTA IV, and Hideo Kojima's next project after MGS4. I've always predicted what new games will be in the making for 2009 and beyond.

My prediction from Retro Studios there will possibly be a Kid Icarus game, since Metroid was brought back in 3D and Kid Icarus is like a counterpart of Metroid, since both games used the same engine like Metroid and Metroid II.

Actually, thats a good theory. Nintendo has said that they are bringing back Kid Icarus, and Retro doesn't want to do another Metroid. But if they transfered Kid Icarus into 3-D, they would be used to something like that. :p

I think Retro Studios could make a Starfox game on the Wii... Starfox is already a decent series, but after SF64 all the games have been only OK. If they could somehow incorporate the Wii controls into aircraft and space battles, it would be awesome.

I would also like to see Rockstar work on a more vehicle-based action game. Driving cars and planes is already fun as hell in GTA, but if they could make a game along the lines of Driver, Jak X and Carmageddon. Free-roaming would be possible, of course, and maybe the ability to get out of the vehicle so you can switch car, but come on, who would'nt love driving over an open drawbridge at 150mph in a car with a rocket launcher attatched to it, while being pursued by an entire squadron of cops? :D

Notice the term Metal Gear "Solid". Metal Gear Solid is a subseries to Metal Gear, much like Metroid Prime to Metroid.

Kojima has said that the Metal Gear Solid series will end, but I highly doubt it'll be the last game of the Metal Gear series.

i just recently had an awsome idea, Btw, no one take ofence to this but a GTA in Texas, and you could play near the mexican border, :D have like security gaurds and white vans going back and forth through the borders, and and mexicans swiiming across the lakes in lines, and for the fun of it pick up a prostiutue and drop her off in mexico. :cool: That'd be sweet!

For thinking? Yes. For hoping? No. I hope so too.

As for the MMOs, the CoD one doesn't sound that great but a Bioshock one could be amazing if done right.

Well, your right in the sense that it would be good for them, and I'm sure it could happen.....In a couple of years, of course. I mean with the console wars as red hot as it is now, a first party merge does not seem likely.

Actually, when it comes to games that haven't been announced yet, I'm most excited by the next game TeamICO (Ico, SotC) is working on for the ps3.

That and I've been waiting for announcements for a new Chrono game as well as a new Breath of Fire and Wild Arms game.

Star Ocean 4 has already been announced so why not?

no. Bioshock as an MMO would be terrible. It would be way too unfair and unbalanced. People would be freezing players, using bees on them, setting them on fire, hacking each other's turrets (there would be like massive queues of people waiting to take over the thing) it would all be too hectic and random noobs would keep spamming the chemical thrower or whatever.

I want to see a sequel to Gun. A REAL sequel, not any of that Magruder's Ghost crap. The first game was great but there was so many things it could have improved, such as the bad textures and the invisible walls. I wanted to just steal a horse and go ride into the desert but you just get stuck on an invisible treadmill or something. If Neversoft could get off their butts and stop milking Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk I'd be very grateful. The closest thing we got to Gun 2 was Gun Showdown, and that was basically a Special Edition or a "Gun 1.5".

i'm sure they can find some way to make it interesting and unique, but I can't see it working at the moment. Bioshock was made to be an incredible single-player experience, it's like asking yourself "should they make a God of War MMORPG?"

Sonic Team has to deliver a good sonic game now (and I dont mean a spin off such as tennis)
But my opinion on Sonic is that Sega is going to give all the developing of Sonic to "Prope" Yuji Nakas company after he left Sonic Team.

I watched one of the early Duke Nukem Forever trailers today. It was very upsetting to see how god damn amazing it looked, there was enough footage for an entire game, I dunno what happened with the development. If this is Prey's fault, I will take a dump on the disc and barbeque it.

Did the Kirby game for the wii die? i know it's died for the cube, but id really like to see this powerful puffball on the wii, and im talking a good kirby game. Not a crap racing game(not that air ride was bad), i just want a good 3-D kirby adventure for once. Kirby 64 was only have 3-D and wasnt even that good.

Plus the most realistic water ever in a game. The ramifications are huge.

i think if GH: Aerosmith is a big hit they might make more GH: [Insert Band Name here]. I just hope if they do they'll have some really good bands.

Well, while 2008 is bound to be a great year, with releases like GTA IV and Brawl, I doubt it could top 2007 as the best year in gaming history. The amount of AAA titles we got last year was staggering.

ok, not all of them could be considered ZOMG GOTY but they were all awesome. 2008's got Gears 2, Resistance 2, MGS4, LBP and all that, but I think saying that it could beat 07 is a bit extreme. There was so many innovative games, technological achievements (i.e. metroid prime 3's shooter controls, etc.), (some improved) ports of older hits (Resi 4, Half-Life 2, Gears, etc.) suprise sequels, amazing new franchises... it was all too awesome. Not just for games, either - 2007 was arguably one of (the) best years for movies, too.
