WinterFest: Poll

Now, you probably are asking why I'm starting a poll in the middle of the competition. Well, because a lot, and I mean A LOT of people haven't been posting their boxarts on WinterFest. Also, a substantial number of people have resigned from the competition, and the reason being is because of finals or vacation over Holiday break. So now you all decide on what the outcome of WinterFest will be. Should WinterFest remain open, closed, or postponed?

The outcomes are pretty rough.


If you all say Yes, WinterFest will go on to round 3, but because a large number of people have been resigned, round 3 could quite possibly be the final round. By choosing this, you are shortening the length of the competition by a large degree. It will be known as the "Largest shortest competition ever".

If you all say no, then the competition will be closed. There will be no winner, no glory, nothing, It will just end like that.

If you all decide the competition should be postponed, then round 2 will end at around January 7th. This is much more than enough time for the people who resigned from the competition to otherwise make a boxart for the competition. Those who haven't gotten their's in should use this time to do so now. The main reason why I would do this is because some people wanted to go through the competition, but they are faced will problems in real life.

You must provide a reason why WinterFest should stick to the outcome of your choice. Get voting! Voting will be closed by the 25th of December. Christmas Day.

Well, I'm not complaining about your hosting job. But I don't think you should quit this competition. It's a bit of fun that keep this site going.....otherwise your seeing the frontpage flooding with crap. (except the respected members who do not often post a box).

Winterfest Should Carry On Because Some Of Us Have Been Waiting For this comp for a long time, so its not really fair on those people. Also If You Postpone It There Will Most definatly be a comp going on.

My last day of finals is tomorrow and not much for me to study for really. Actually, I can't really study for gym or option :D And spanishIV is nothing to worry about para mi.

So I'm pretty much free till...ehem....january 7th. (exactly the day the comp will resume!?)

wow....so I say yes, i think should go on. I also plan to return, but if ppl want to postpone, I have no problem with that either.

Here's what I think. The round 2 deadline is at the very beginning of Christmas break. (One day earlier, whatever.) Then, after all the rounds are posted, the crateria for round 3 should be released. But, the deadline should perhaps be after Christmas break? Just an idea, but i'm fine either way 'cause I'm not really going anywhere for the holidays. ('cept maybe Assesippi for 2 or 3 days.)

WinterFest should continue. This is a competition, folks. Competitions have deadlines. If you can't meet those dealines then whose fault is it? Yours, exactly.

The deadlines have been extended far enough already, too much in fact, for the select few in the competition who cannot meet deadlines that are clearly stated in the competition thread. I for one have crete my boxes and sent them in to the deadline, and then having to wait several more days for the Round to finish. If you can't find the time to make your box for the competition, then so be it. Tough. Goodbye. You're out.

What if this was somthing serious? A real job, working with a real deadline for a rel company? You can't just blunder up to your boss and say "Oh, excuse me, can I have an exended deadline please because I can't find the time because I'm going on holiday" because all he'll say is "Well then, you better prey that there's a computer in the hotel with graphics software and internet access, won't you?"

Come on, guys. If you haven't got the time, don't enter the competition in the first place!

I'm pretty sure we both advance to round 3 unless something else is up. I'm thinking the rules of round 3 would be different anyway. So I'm going to have to design a whole new box accordingly to the new rules, cross-over or not.

your probably going to beat me, personally i really dislike my my comp box, but i felt like it was all that i could do at the time, kinda like when i lost to chibi cloud in that one comp, i new i could've and should've done better, i just like making boxes for fun, im not into comps because i always lose, but thats okay for me, i realized comps are fun!
