Help for Photoshop

hey i have Photoshop CS3 Extended but im not too good at it and i wanted to ask for a tutorial before i made an idiot of myself with a stupid box art

Like I tell everyone who asks for tutorials...play around with all of the tools. Get to know the odds and ends of the program. Tutorials are guidelines. You dont want guidelines, you want to have individual ideas, and the only way you can achieve this is by learning how each tool works and experiment with mixing and blending each tools effects.
