Rules of round 1

You are to make a game based off of a movie or book. It can be a completely original adventure or a retelling of a movie or book.

Title: Anything that is a book or movie
Console: Any 6th or 7th gen console or handheld including PC or Mac
Genre: Any
2D/3D: Either
Front/Full: Full
Other: The game cannot be based on a movie or book that is already based on a video game. Examples include the Resident Evil series, FFVII: Advent Children, Silent Hill, Lara Croft, ect.

Every Image must be edited by you in some way. Do not submit your boxart to the site until your round has been posted!

Thanks everyone. And Nerdysimmer...please don't apologize. It is my fault for causing such a...disturbance. It is me who should be apologizing to everyone for causing everyone trouble. It was just that I was really looking forward to this contest and when I found out that I was against LK, my hopes of even making it past round 1 shattered, and I did not want that to happen.

I'm fine with going against Twilight Mystics, though I would have preferred going against E_G, Techne, and you as well Nerdy, but I do not wish to cause any more disturbance than I have already caused. So, thank you Nerdysimmer, for even early at this competition you are showing traits of being a good hoster.

But...don't you think that pitting two very talented boxartists such as LK and FFseer be reserved for last? Techne suggested this too earlier and I thought I'd be a great idea. Of course...it is a mere request. Remember TM's newb vet comp with dms and Madspike's match? I think the competition would have been much more heated and enjoyable if that had been reserved for last...that is if they make it. But again...it is a mere request.

As most people dont post competition boxes in WIP form (for obvious reasons), anyone who wants opinion or help on their box art can PM me their WIP so I can help you out if you are stuck.

Like they say two heads are better than one. :)

I'm going to be unbiased of course, as Im not in this competition itself. You dont have to take my advice neccessarily - since you are the boxartist and have every right to make your decisions, but suggestions from another can come in handy.

Your WIPs will be in total confidence. I assure you that. ;)

Hopefully this would help some rounds be even more competitive. Im available for help to anyone in this competition, so its fair for everyone.

Other volunteers would also be appreciated (members not participating in this competiton). I would like to personally nominate Gunslinger and Koopadasher along with me for this role.

Of course that is only if Nerdy is fine with this suggestion.

I agree with you about the consumer friendlyness of PaintShop Pro, it's not that hard to understand this program.

I still haven't started yet :) But I've thought about it....

When I make my boxes, half of the time is spent thinking about design concepts I want to incorporate in the particular box and how that matches the game's style the box is being designed for. The other half is actually putting those ideas into execution ;)

I would like to offer a proposition:

As most people dont post competition boxes in WIP form (for obvious reasons), anyone who wants opinion or help on their box art can PM me their WIP so I can help you out if you are stuck.

Like they say two heads are better than one. :)

I'm going to be unbiased of course, as Im not in this competition itself. You dont have to take my advice neccessarily - since you are the boxartist and have every right to make your decisions, but suggestions from another can come in handy.

Your WIPs will be in total confidence. I assure you that. ;)

Hopefully this would help some rounds be even more competitive. Im available for help to anyone in this competition, so its fair for everyone.

Other volunteers would also be appreciated (members not participating in this competiton). I would like to personally nominate Gunslinger and Koopadasher along with me for this role.

Of course that is only if Nerdy is fine with this suggestion.

However, I'm also trying to perfect the style of my comp box, which explains why it's still not even half way done XD I can, however, confidently promise you guys that it is a very unique style not only for what I've been doing so far, but quite possibly with boxes in general. I've pretty much got the front design final and I'm still experimenting with the back so pls don't rush me. Though very risky in terms of design, because of its style, (esp for a comp box) it's a risk I'm very willing to take :)
