Ahem, I had an idea for a competition with nothing but satire boxes. Hopefully, this will add more satires to the site.

Unfortunately, It probably won't start until Feb/Mar for two reasons:

1. I won't have it during NerdySimmer's comp because it involves over 30 people which means less people would join my competition.

2. VGMaster has a comp soon after that, which I am taking part in. It's not exactly easy to run one competition while running another.


Rules:

1. All boxes must be satire.

2. You can not cheat or steal a box.

3. You must submit your box before the deadline.

4. You can not submit a boxart you have already posted on this site. However, you are free to submit your contest box after your round is posted.

5. You may not bash other people's boxes for no reason.

6. DON'T START FLAME WARS!

7. If you break any of the above rules, you will be automatically disqualified.

Well, It'll probably be the same as the other competitions, just with satires.

We could do it one of two ways:

1.)You may not know it, but there are a couple different types of satires; There are ones that change the name of a real game to make it funny, ( Animal Flossing, Bald Space Bros.) there are ones that are a funny spinoff of a game, (Ocarina Hero, Guitar Hero: Mario Meyhem) there are ones that just make fun of a game, (The Darkness, Shining Lore?) and last but not least, there are ones that have to do with Vgboxart.com. (Avatar Wars)

2.) The alternative would be that you could choose whatever kind of satire you want for each round, but perhaps keeping the same console, Front/Back, etc.

At this point I'm still not sure. I guess I'll just have to see what people think. So you want in, or not?

First: The host (Star89er) picks the catagory.
Second: He tells us what the box has to be.
Third: We make the box. You have about a week or so.
Fourth: DO NOT post it.
Fifth: Send it to host (Star89er).
Sixth: He posts rounds.
Seventh: Feel free to post your box
Eighth: People vote
Nineth: Someone wins.
Tenth: Host posts next round.

I kinda have a problem. I can't have a tournament with 9 people. So, if you want to sign up, please do! The only other way would be if I sign up for my own competition but, I don't want to have to. Mind you, I still haven't gotten an answer from Vengeance. :(

I would suggest you don't change your avatar. Why? Because I have made banners for the first 5 rounds using your current avatar. They look like this:

That statement isn't exactly true, but I just wanted to show off my animated banner.:D (It might not look animated because it'll probably be done by the time you scroll down the page.) I found a much easier way to edit the avatar on the banner to show a different avatar.

So what ? :) Everybody can win here because you must make laugh the members. If the boxes is fuckin' awesomely made but the joke isn't funny, or the box is decent but the joke is excellent, the decent box would win :)

Actually, I was really hoping to face him. He's one of my best friends on the site and we're both satire HOFers.

Though I'd suggest making the competition more fair and have each pair be about the same skill level.

Suprisingly enough, it seems as though every pair of people is about the same skill level.

You and Muggles both have 2 satires in the HoF.

I haven't really seen many satires from PuzzleMan or Hunter.

Yummybrains has made a few satires and so has frenchboy.

ADFD and Vekta are both vets who are good at satires.

I haven't really seen many satires from MIKE or Moogle.

So, in the end, it all works itself out.

Unfortunately, that is the time I will be settling in school, as my subjects next year will change drastically and I would need to focus more, as my grades this year were only average. That's a problem I don't want to run into when doing my DVD Cover Competition, which is why I was more than keen to start it running early. I don't want people to be inactive or to have left before I start. :(
