having lots of trouble with the magnetic lasso

on Adobe Photoshop im having alot of trouble with the magnetic lasso its really hard to do can anyone please help me? its hard to trace the edges for hair like Squalls please help!

Well you can wiggle around with the tolerance settings, but if I were you I would use the polygonal lasso and then the eraser with 50% hardness to even everything out.
