Ignored boxartist [Archive]

It likes the underrated boxartist thread. I just noticed some who are ignored in spite of there are good, or great :
-Me ! (frenchboy1)
-thecodemaster
-ElectricDynamite
-Destroyer
-IceFox
-Lovekuja
And some other that I didn't talked about. I know, a lot of people here prefers leave comments on crappy boxes and awesome boxes than good, decent or great boxes but our work isn't respected perfectly. I took 2 or 3 hours or more on some boxes for 6 comments or 3 coments. I'm not alone in this state. I see Twilight's, wickedgamer's, finalfantaseer's and other's boxes got around 30 or 40 comments. I didn't said they done a decent work (they're awesome :eek: ) but it should be the same thing with other members...

I feel desesperate...:(

Aye. No matter how many threads are made about this /nothing/ will change. Just make boxes for fun and dont worry on whether you get 1 or 40 comments. I mean really, you should be making these for fun not for comments. If your proud of your work that should be enough eh?

There is a difference between "under-rated" and "ignored"...

Yes, I agree with you on that point but It make me sick when I see people don't give a shit about my boxes. I make them for fun. Yes, but I tell you what happened when I was yoman44 (when I was a beginer) : I posted a lot of boxes a day (around 4 or 5) I made them for fun and don't care about comments. Everybody hated me. I decided to put more effort on my boxes and now I'm better but I'm feling desesperate to see how my boxes are considerate...

don't worry.
you know what will be great?
if you keep on making boxes, and keep on improving how much you are right now, and then, one day, you will make the epic box[ *epic music* ], which will be over-commented,over-faved,and overly loved.

well, that's how i like to see it at least.

If you want to be more positive. The least comments the better, because everyone is staring in "awe" and think they arent worthy are commenting.

Recently, I had to ask myself why I make boxarts. I mean, what's the point? At first, I thought I do it for personal enjoyment, but I don't. Then I thought about my satisfaction at making a decent box - that's all fine, but to know if I've actually made a good piece of work through other people's eyes, I need other people to look at the boxes and tell me what they think about them. I was so disappointed by the response for my four-hour work on my latest box, Clive Barker's Jericho, that I posted the design on DeviantArt to try and get some more comments. Also, it's one of the only boxes that I've ever updated to a newer version, purely because I was sure that it was one of my best ever, but I needed more comments to feel more sure about it.

If this site isn't about giving comments, I don't think I'll post any of my work here. At least people should give me a sign that they saw my boxes. Especially my Wii-Love to cook box. I feel great for that 9.5 out of 10, but I feel that that's the only person who looked at the box. Could you guys check it out? I worked really hard on it. (and please show some signs of life in my nfs Carbon movie box art)

Well, before I got my HoF box, my boxes were greatly ignored.

An example: My Assassin's Creed Limited Edition box. There were 10 comments, in which 4 were mine. I was greatly disappointed, as I worked a long time figuring on the layout, and I tried to make it look greatly different than the ones on the site. I appreciated the favs, but most of them who faved did not comment. A fav is my main priority, but the comments are the much-needed extra for critiques and such.

I hope people would take the time to comment on some of my ignored boxes, and not to mention these people:

Thanks elcrazy, but with especially you and Ervo having 1 and 0 HoF boxes, makes me feel a bit overrated, which is kinda affecting my work.

I'm pretty much ignored. I think. Working on my boxes a lot and getting 5-10 comments is pretty annoying :P

Frenchboy claimed that IceFox is an ignored boxartist yet he is the 34th highest viewed artist.. to be ignored is defined as other people having a lack of knowledge about you. I don't think that really defines what IceFox is, does it?

i was merely explaining the fact that the most viewed artist page has nothing to do with being a good or a bad artist.

Man... my newest Gears of War box is WAY too popular... I mean, come on, a massive ONE comment, you could topple the number of comments on "Monty Oum's Haloid" with that many... I feel like the most popular guy on the internet :rolleyes:

i havnt got much attention..except for my new AC box which is now HoF. but before, that, i got barely any notice..and the people that did, thot my boxes were pretty good. but maybe its cuz i dont have alot..only 4 boxes at the momento.

it doesnt mean how good you are or how many comments you get, it's how often people look at your boxart page. ranmakuu is high on the list because he gets tons of pageviews (i dont have a clue why...)

you can look for someone else to fight with,i'm not interested.
again,the most viewed list isn't a good tool to measure if somebody is underrated or not.
if it was,dmshaposv,e_g etc. would be in the top 3.
you see,there are alot of members' pages which go unnoticed,while the artist him/herself does not and vice versa.

OMG we're not talking about being UNDERRATED we're talking about being IGNORED they are very different.

UNDERRATED = KNOWN to be not as GOOD as you ARE
IGNORED = NOT given a CHANCE to SHOW how good you are

Do you get it? Is it sinking in? Is it scaling the mount everest that is your comprehension lobe in your brain?

I feel like I'm ignored to an extent... Very rarely do I get above 15 comments on a box, and they're almost always all mine...

Prolly shouldn't be complaining cause I've only been here a month, but still...

I don't want to sound like a douchbag now, but to be honest neither my Dead Space, Majoras Mask or my Black Sheep box have gotten nearly enough attention.

I think I worked so hard with those that I deserve, even though my past behaviour, some attention.

One thing is that, if your box does not get more attention, you have no choice but to deal with it, as bumping it would only be against the rules.

The best part is to try to create a better boxart, if that gets more attention, most probably people would want to see your earlier work if they like your boxart.

The thing is that how come everyone spams the "�berawesome suck my balls" boxes, and the "suck my balls and appologize- bad" boxesm but not the "Nice 3.5 - 4" boxes? Somethings wrong with the system.
