What are the Annual Video Game Box Art Awards?

Since 2006, when PunisherAB created it, they’ve been a yearly event that recognizes excellent box art making. With PunisherAB’s permission, this year it’ll be hosted by E_G, with valuable banners and support by Shadysaiyan.

How does it work?

There are categories that people can vote for. I'll obtain all the information about what nominations you want, for both boxes and artists. I'll accept most votes that are made, and in two weeks, the final nominations will be available and you can vote for the overall winners via PM.

Rules
We want this ceremony to be fair. You cannot vote for yourself and alternate accounts will not be allowed for you to do this. Anyone from this site can vote and can choose who they want, as long as you’ve been here longer than two weeks. Remember the awards can't always go your way, and trouble causers may have their posts removed.

Please note that these boxes must be made this year, and please consider the box artists who made them. Also linking will help.

Please PM me any feedback and thoughts to improve these awards.

I've been sidetracked by some problems today, you should expect it tomorrow morning at the latest and I need to make sure the votes have been counted properly, no easy task. This won't be the easiest thread to set up.

I personally feel its kinda early for something like this. I would expect these awards to be held in late december or early jan so that they cover the whole year (like in the case of most annual awards), and not just the 10 month period.

A lot of good boxes come out in a month, and I'm sure there will be some very good ones even in november and december as well.

Well Dmshaposv you chose a bit of an awkward time to come up with such a drastic suggestion when most of the preparations are already in motion. PunisherAB entrusted me to do this after all and this is the most convenient time for me to do this, whilst I got some time off college and I wanted to do this before anyone might have tried, to have the exclusivity thing going on.

I'm sure any boxes and artists that will join after this event takes place can be included in next year's event instead.
