What the hell?! There's tons of awesome characters left to be announced, and they give us Lucas. Who the hell is he?!

The youth with the psychic powers has appeared�it�s Lucas! He makes his anticipated debut from the Japan-only release MOTHER 3.

While he is timid in nature, he fights splendidly. Is it possible he can surpass even Ness?!

WTF? Next thing you'll know, you can play as Dr. Kawashima from Brain Age... or even Reggie himself :eek:

Who the hell is Lucas? I mean, at least with Ness, everyone that has played SSB has heard of him....no one outside of Japan has even HEARD of this Lucas guy.... the least they could have done is given us his moveset. And I swear....if anyone on that list has replaced Falco....it's not going to be pretty.

This is probably the same thing people went through when Marth and Roy were on Melee. Who knows? They've never seen the outside of Japan. And the Fire Emblem games that Marth and Roy star in haven't seen the light outside of japan.

But yeah, it's very disappointing.

Yeah, from Devil World. Apparently it was never released in the US because we are sticklers about censorship and didn't want our kids involved with the devil any more than they already were back in the 80's.

I've played that game using an emulator. There's nothing wrong with that game for me! I hate our censorship society. It's the worst fascism in the world. Whoever thought of this idea should just rot in hell.

IGN don't update their calendars for the UK. Their calendar still says Just Cause 2 is planned to be released in November, even though it hasn't even begun development. and... oh great, according to them, Hellboy: The Science of Evil is delayed for a 2008 release. :mad:

Speaking of Devil World, If you check the assist trophy Devil's entry, it will say Devil World was never released in the U.S. But, if you check the UK and Ireland page, it won't say any thing about that.

Another difference is that in the U.S. the entry "15 Second Movie Presentation" it says the U.S. release date. no sign of a release date on any of the other sites though.

Although those two things seem obvious, there are other small and somewhat strange differences between pages, such as:

On the UK site it says "Updated daily Monday to Friday!" instead of "Daily Weekday Updates!" like it does on the U.S site.

Also, the U.K site has numbered dates, while the U.S site has the full date.
i.e. U.S = Oct. 01 Mon. 2007
U.K = 01/10/2007 Mon

Here is a quote from the U.S site: "The youth with the psychic powers has appeared—it’s Lucas! He makes his anticipated debut from the Japan-only release MOTHER 3." Now here is a qoute from the U.K. site: "The blond-haired boy with the psychic powers has arrived – it’s Lucas! He makes his anticipated debut from the Japan-only release MOTHER 3."

I'm sure there are many more, but these are just a few that I've noticed. If for some reason you don't believe me, check out the site for yourself.

I'm deffinatly getting it, saddly I missed playing Melee alot cause I didn't get a 'Cube but the orginal rocked. Really wish Nintendo brought out any type headset compapabilty with this game though v.v.

I'll be tearing up the battlefield with either Bowser, Ice Climbers or if they announce and other FE character like Hector or even Eliwood. May try Snake out though cause I mean come on, he has mines!!

believe it or not... i've never played a Super Smash Bros game. It's been one of my aims in life to play one, but I never owned (or even played) an N64, and I never got the chance to play Melee. I've been trying to buy it, but i can't find it in stores anywhere... :(

anyways, i've always been best at zelda/shiek, falco and roy, but i'm reallly excited to play as pit and zero suit samus.

i'm still pissed how they made ike a playable character and lyn only an assist trophy.

this is also random: but my favorite stage from melee was kirby's dreamland cuz the colors were so pretty and i loved the song.

Metal gears are tank-like weapons that are also used as nuclear launch platforms. That's all I know since I've only played two Metal Gear Solid games; Twin Snakes, and Snake Eater. I've been trying to get Sons of Liberty, but I don't have any money. :(

I'm also glad that they used the voice actor from Snake Eater as Solid snake in brawl. That game had pretty good humor.

OK, so just to get some finalized numbers, let's make the assumption that Smash comes out on Dec. 3rd in the US..... How many of you would want to be involved in a Smash Bros Brawl Competition? This would require you to have WiFi, obviously, and most likely it will begin Friday, Dec 7th, or possibly Saturday the 8th if that is what people would rather do. That should give everyone plenty of time to get to the same skill level in the game. So just post below if you are interested in doing this. In the past I have started WiFi competitions and it turns out that no one has the game/wants to play, so this time I'm going to make sure we have enough players before the competition begins.

I would probably host this later, because a lot of people are probably going to get the game for Christmas. I'd change it to Dec 28 or Jan 1-4th or something. It doesn't matter to me anyway, i'll probably be getting the game on release day... sometime next year :rolleyes:

Oh yeah you did! You edited Lucas into Ness. That I know because you just changed the color of his stripes, changed the color of his hair black and added a red cap. You also could've just stretched Mario's body so that it would look more skinier, altered his shirt color green, changed the shape of his face, and the color of his skin (which would be tan). Still, nice try!

I think now :p You might also be interested to know that on the same place there are also pictures for Dark Samus, Wolf O'Donnell, Dixie Kong, and several "outfits" for characters. Yes, outfits, not color changes. Like, if you can imagine Mario in the Shine shirt from SMS instead of his overalls.

That is pretty hard, considering he has never appeared in an actual game with an exception of DDR Mario Mix. Though, he did get big personality boosts in Mario Party 8 and Mario Strikers Charged.

The Ice Climbers was the first thing I thought of too, when I saw that. Sucks that if the first guy dies, both die. Don't worry about the images. They're all fake. I just found them online and thought they were cool. Well, except for the DeDe one.....it looks nearly real....

It may be delayed for other reasons, koopa...I bet they delayed it to fix the Wifi, so it doesn't lag for worldwide battle.
All I know is I hope it's still released in Dec.

I don't think Sora would be a good choice. KH is a game about Disney/Square Enix, he wouldn't fit in a really big Nintendo crossover. It's like putting Vaan from Final Fantasy XII because he is in Revenant Wings. Plus Sora has only been on one (at the moment) Nintendo console which is the GBA. It would be better if he was on a home console like Gamecube or Wii.

Yeah, I know who he is. He's tall, and lanky, and difficult to maneuver quickly. Far from being acrobatic, his long legs would prevent him from being as quick on his feet as some of the others.

i just don't like the inclusion of third-party characters...

If Dragon Ball Z Tenkachi 3 can have over 200 figthers i'm pretty sure Super Smash Bros Brawl will have over 40.

isn't that game on PS3? a blu-ray disc can hold up to 25GB (i think, it might be even more than that). A wii disc can't hold that much.

anyway, I wonder if they'll be a Sonic the Hedgehog stage. My money's on either a "Green Hill" stage (first level of the original Sonic) or Soleanna from Sonic 2006.

No, that game i think is for the PS2 and Wii.

A DVD can hold about 4.7 GB on a single layer disc and 8.5 GB on a dual layered disc while a blu-ray disc can hold 25 GB on a single layered disc and 50 GB on a dual layer.

Dude, It's Nintendo. They abundantly delay games. For example, Twilight Princess was originally stated for a November 2005 release, but they kept pushing the date to make it better.

Looks like they are taking some ideas from TimeSplitters.
I'm kinda disappointed that the stages you build are kinda watered down.

But the ideas of battling online on a custom stage, sharing the stages, and taking snapshots and replays on the stage seem pretty nice.

However, the two things I'm looking forward to on the Dojo are Mii battles and custom soundtracks.

They'll never do custom soundtracks. They're putting too much effort into the in-game music (fully orchestrated, for the most part) to give you the option to use your own music. I too was disappointed by the watered down creator, but that's how most map makers are. My problem is that you can't save the stages they send to you over the WiiConnect24.

Yeah, I'm not exactly happy about that either. I mean, if you really like one of those stages, the closest thing to saving it would be recreating it yourself.

I think you should be able to submit a stage, along with a sort of nickname (Star89er for example). Then when you go to look at the stage of the day, It'll say:

A Stage
by: A Person
And if they pick yours, then you could show off to your friends, and be all like "Aw, yeah, that's mine. I'm A Person.

There's one more thing that's on my mind: How long is Nintendo going to keep this up? Are they planning on keeping this whole "Stage of the Day" for years to come?

The first Time i got timesplitters future perfect, I was quite excited that you can build your own stages. However, when I started making one of the maps, it didn't take me long to figure out that the mapmaker was watered down. Mapmakers like the NWN Aurora Toolset was very easy to learn and tough to get professioned with.

One of the things I didn't like was that if you are planning to make a story mission, because of the limitations, an average story mission only lasts up to a minute or so. Also, you can only put one object in one tile. Where's the replay value in that?

Explain why the 360 enables custom soundtracks in all games? I know for a fact that the majority of the 360 games has put effort into making a great soundtrack, and yet you can play the custom songs while you play the game.

Whenever I'm at my friends house to play a 360 (which btw, got killed by the Red Ring of Death last week :( ) we ALWAYS play our favorite songs to get us pumped up for a really fun, and murderous deathmatch. Custom soundtracks are essential to a gamer who loves music (which is me)

Also, I plan on putting the Dark Samus boss battle music from MP2:E on my setlist. That song rocks.

You know what I think would be a cool level? Aether, from Metroid Prime 2. Halfway through battle, it changes to Dark Aether, and you get damaged by the atmosphere, and have to stay in the light shields to survive.

Waluigi is more of a spinoff character in terms, so the chances of him showing up as a playable character were against him. The only game he starred as the main villain was DDR Mario Mix.

They are now using alternate costumes! Yes! I knew they would come to their senses! Unfortunately, only Wario has been announced, but he does look better in his overalls instead of his biker outfit. I'm hoping that the following characters will get a makeover.

It took us three more days to get Uncharted than Europe, plus the month that the US had it that we didn't. Europe gets the short end but Australia gets the shorter end of the short stick.

So this game got a very pleasant perfect score from Famitsu, although I get the impression they didn't get their hands on the complete version so the developers could keep tabs on early leakages. Also the hype for this game is through the roof and it could leave an impact on reviewers. What do you guys reckon the big sites are going to rate this game anyhow?

IGN: 9.5
Game Rankings might be something like 94%.

The game does have a story, (Subspace Emissary) and there are actually 25 characters confirmed if you count Sheik.

Did you disremember that GameSpot assigns scores by increments of 0.5? Also I think there will be enough inventive new modes and options. It should be the highest rated SSB yet.

It's a fighting game, it should be unmistakable that the storyline isn't as significant as certain other games. I would definitely accept it if there was no narrative at all. Also quality over quantity besides we don't know the whole character roster just yet.

Actually, there are 29 (not counting Shiek and Zero Suit Samus) in the game, and the ones mentioned on the site are playable. I guarantee that there will be over 40 characters in this game.
