Ness, Lucario, and Jigglypuff Confirmed!!!!!!

Stop this video at 4:20 seconds, and look in the bottom right hand corner. It shows Lucario and Jigglypuff's heads. The next screen shows Ness' head next to Lucas'!! What does that mean? If you look on the trophy/sticker screens from Friday's update, you will see the Cell Phone from Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. In the bottom corner are Meta Knight, Kirby, and Dedede as characters that can use that sticker. Same here. Trainer, Pikachu, Lucario, and Jigglypuff can all use the Groudon sticker.

Diddy Kong was designed by Rare for a Donkey Kong game which is owned by Nintendo, and the same would apply with Gero (or whatever he was called) because he was in a Mario game. Think of it this way - Microsoft makes an SSBB-type game starring characters such as Master Chief and Marcus Fenix. Since Rare is now owned by Microsoft, could they use Diddy Kong in the game, because they designed him? No, the rights to the Kongs are owned by Nintendo. The same would apply with "Gero" if Square were to make a fighting game on a Sony or Microsoft console, UNLESS Gero was actually on one of those consoles before.

I honestly hope you're wrong. 'Cause Luigi, Ganondorf and Capt. Falcon are almost diffenite, after all two of them have been with the series from the begining, and teh Hyrule universe needs a badguy reppresented.

It seems a bit slack for Fire Emblem to only have one person (Where as pokemon has four), and a crap one at that.
That's one more.

Didn't someone, somewhere say taht there'll be another thirdparty brawler?
I mean I'm hopeing for Megaman, but most people want Geno.
So taht's another spot I'm hopeing for.

Falco should get a second chance, it was slack that he got cloned so people hated on him, and some people want Kyristal (Sp?)
So that's another two slots.

Too be completely unrealistic I'd like to say that the Third-party brawls should get a buddy from the same franchise, only 'cause Knuckles would be ownage. which would also mean another character from MGS (I haven't really played any MGS games so yeah....I can't say who'd get it.) So if Capcom gets picked for the last thirdparty, I'd want Bass (Forte) but 'cause he's too much like Megaman ('cause in my head one of Megamans special attacks would involve Rush, so then Bass would need Treble, and it'd just be another clone. So they might pick Blues, but he has the same problem, he's just Megaman with a shield.) But Geno gets picked then I hope Square would pick Black Mage to fight, now that would be cool.
So taht'll be an extra three slots

That's another 7 slots added to the 30, so they might add another 3 to make it well rounded.

Ridley's going to be a Subspace boss, for sure, so no slot for him =P
Bowser Jr. should be a SS boss too, I'd love to see him as a character but I fear Nintendo might get lazy and make him too clonish towards Bowser. So here's hopeing he's a boss useing that good old flying armada.

Back on the topic of diffenites.
What you guys think Ganondorf's FS is going to be? I hope it's him transforming into Ganon like in TP and just charging across the screen.
Luigi I fear is going to be some what cloneish, the only thing he has going for him that's different in the Vacuum, which doesn't seem that cool of an attack.

I vaguely recall Masahiro Sakurai say they'll be about 40 characters.
I want Ridley, Ganon (that weird pig version), Dr. Eggman, Ocelot (or whoever the villian of MGS:TTS is) as Subspace Bosses along with Petey Pirahna and Rayquaza. Bowser Jr. would be a nice addition aswell. I could imagine his attacks involving his magic paintbrush from Sunshine.

Maybe the Mushroomy Kingdom is going to be in the Subspace, you know, Mario is away with Kirby, they run into Petey, Mario gets blown away some where, and when he comes back to the Mushroom Kingdom to find it ruined. Then you battle through it and rescue Luigi (Because he'd most likely be captured 'cause they seem to shit on Luigi for some reason, just 'cause he's not the main hero doesn't mean he has to be useless.)

also guys, I've been thinking about this character thing, if he said that he was worried that the wi-fi battles against other people might spoil the hidden characters for you if you haven't unlocked them (he said this once or twice) Why would it matter if he reveals all but 2 or 3 characters? It doesn't. So this obviously means that there are pleanty more characters to unlock. they worked so hard on this project, they want it to be special and totally awsome for everyone.

I want Olimar to be my main character. If you say that about him, you would have to say that about Snake and Pokemon Trainer as well, since they both use methods of fighting that have not previously been seen. Just because they're different doesn't mean they don't belong in. I have wanted Olimar to be in the game for a very long time, and they did not disappoint.Sure, he can't attack on his own, but that's the beauty of his character. He's very strategic, more than just a brute force fighter.

guys, just dont worry about it. They're going to put more in. If they're keeping this many secrets and building this much hype, there NEEDS to be more. and so they did. Nobody knows nintendo like nintendo does. As you can see with olimar and pokemon trainer, they can make some pretty cool dudes the fighting type that wouldn't have been. All those clone charachters, the smart thing for them to do would be to change their move sets and things, ganondorf with his sword, marth and roy with different techniques, fox and falco with different jumps and speed thingies. This game is going to be sweet, no matter what you guys complain about.

B- Hurricane Spin. Has a very wide. horizontal range. The longer you charge it, the more powerful it becomes. Can pull foes in, but does not last long in the air.

Side B- Deku Leaf. Throws gusts of air along the stage to knock opponents back, not unlike the banana peel. Also used to allow him to glide and as a long-range recovery move.

Up B- Grappling Hook. Acts like Olimar and Ivysaur's Up B moves. The longer you charge it, the longer range it has. Can be used as both a mid-air grab attack and as a recovery move.

Down B- Wind Waker. Changes the direction of the wind to either up, down, left, or right. Creates a strong gust that both hinders player movement and pushes them back. Can be used in combo with the Deku Leaf to create an even stronger blast.

But I really can't see them throwing in Cel-Link if you have Ganondorf, Link, and Zelda.

None so far. I did, however, see several videos of Dedede in action, and not only does he kick butt, but he appears to be the biggest character in the game. He dwarfed Ike.

If you go to the Japanese Dojo site, and look under the Masterpieces update, you will see two screenshots on their site that are not on our's. Those two are from Mother 2, and Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, both for the SNES.

Now, Lucas made his appearance in the DS version of Mother, Mother 3. Ness, however, is from Mother 2, which appeared in the US as Earthbound. Why would they include Mother 2? Well, as we know, Ness has been confirmed to be in Brawl.

Now, if you look, the main character from Fire Emblem: MotE, is a guy we all know as Marth. Marth's distinct Melee moveset was shared only by his clone, Roy, a much heavier version of Marth, and a position that is now filled by Ike. For Marth, however, his moveset is still unique, and there has yet to be a pure, quick swordsman in Brawl. If you go to the Castle Seige stage update, Sakurai says that it is not taken from any specific game in the series. Now, why would that be? Ike is only from the Gamecube FE game. Why not have a castle or other location from Path of Radiance? Well, if Marth is in the game, as I am suggesting, then that would mean that two different games, on two different platforms, are represented, requiring a more general stage for the FE series. Also, if you consider that the Fire Emblem series is incredibly popular in Japan, as evidenced by Sakurai's quote on the Fire Emblem theme music, then it is to be assumed that the series would have more than one character.

Now, the automatic argument for this is why would FE have two characters, if Metroid only has one? Well, given the popularity of the Prime series, and the overwhelming request for the character by Smash fans, it can also be assumed that Ridley will make his appearance in Brawl for the first time.

He could turn into a paper airplane and fly, like Meta Knight. He could wrap people up in himself in a tube, squeeze them, and then do a jump with them rolled up inside him. He could turn sideways, so that you see him as just a line, in order to reflect projectiles.

Pac-Man: Because he is a gaming legend and is maybe the most recognisable gaming character ever (even more than Mario!). And Namco added him in the Mario Kart GP Arcade so it wouldn't be all that impossible. Im not sure what all his attacks would be.... maybe throw pills at people? Maybe suck people in similar to what Kirby does? His Final Smash attack would be obvious though, grabs a super pill and all the other players turn blue with white mouths and that siren noise starts playing and fighters are unable to attack because they're too busy running away... Newcomer: Bowser Jr.
Description: Bowser's son who first appeared in Super Mario Sunshine for the Gamecube. He wields a magical paintbrush which creates deadly goopy-sticky paint stuff when used that can also create small enemies. He isn't as powerful as his father but he is faster and more agile. He shares some of Bowser's moves (such as the roll/spin attack) and he has his ground-pound from Mario Strikers Charged. His final smash covers the whole screen in paint for a few seconds as well as damaging all other characters.

Why he didn't make it into the game, idk... it's not like he'd be a clone.

Dark Samus: it would be awesome that Samus could transform into Dark Samus for a limited time with a great power and agility. She makes the same moves as Samus but his attacks are more powerfull. And if you catch the smash ball while on it, his final smash is to multiply in 4( like MP3C) and attack everbody!!

Samus ISN'T Dark Samus... they're two completely different characters.

Dark Samus should have all Phazon-based attacks, and her final smash would be some sort of massive Phazon Apocalypse-Blast kinda thing. Other moves would be teleport and shield etc.

They gave it a 9.5 because the Subspace Emissary is ONLY 8 hours long, because it doesn't have voice chat over WiFi, because it doesn't have an online leaderboard, and because overall, by being a sequel, it is "too much like Melee". They also gave it an 8.5 for graphics. How, idk. I can see the individual threads in Mario's overalls, so I don't know what their problem is.

Exactly. And the Emissary is almost double the length of the Halo 3 campaign. So who cares what IGN says. We know it's good, and we're going to get it no matter what they say, so as long as you don't care about voice chat or leaderboards, you have no reason to care what they say. I mean, they counted off of it's score because there are load times in the Emissary between cutscenes. I mean, what non-Nintendo game have they ever taken off for load times?

I wouldn't go THAT far, Ratchet... but about the graphics, although they didnt actually say this, i can't help but feel it's something to do with the characters popping through platforms and stuff. But then again, it's not like we care, and the gameplay would be too complex if you couldn't (Giga Bowser and the Landmaster on small stages, for example). I'm glad there's no leaderboards, because they just add too much competitiveness to the gameplay, and it becomes more about who can become the best than having a hell of a time. Fuck IGN and anyone else who gives it less than a 10/10.

well, it depends where you live, but I'm really not sure how many people are going to get it in your area/how many copies your video game store is getting. I'll say more on the yes side, because they made sure that they made enough copies for us Americans (reason for the delay) so you should be fine, but again, I don't know.

I just got my copy....we've been playing it since Midnight, until just now. Though the Wii and Nunchuk combo was odd at first, it was fairly easy to pick up. It's very nice to be able to set your control style for everyone. Oh, and it's FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!! BUY IT NOW!!!

Yeah, I agree it pwns. I haven't gotten very far tho. I've gotten to 'The Wilds' (Mario, Link, etc) on SSE. And I lost to the first newcommer when I got cocky and let him get the smash ball. Darn. I tried to make a Tetris stage (credit to Koopa for the idea) but the game won't allow it. You can't make falling blocks on top of each other

ZOMG.... the best thing since.... since.... sliced....boobs. I'm only like 11% in the emmisary and I've already spent a bit of time on it :p It's so awome all the music, the stage builder, the trophies/stickers, play modes, characters, character colors, levels, Subspace Emissary, events and prizes, and well... the whole... everything! This is by far the greatest purchase since... my... life. Well, I didn't even pay for it, I brought in a bunch of my old games I didn't want anymore, and they ended up giving me 17 something dollars back with the game :D It's like they payed me to take it!

Oh and at MY gamestop, they have about 50 copies left and I got it around 4:00 in the afternoon, so your's is probably the same ;)

My existence has officially been rendered purposeless. you know how long i have to wait? 3 months. The game comes out May 1st for us poor guys in the UK. Nintendo decided it'd be funny to make us suffer again. I wouldn't mind if it was Mario Kart Wii or something, but come on, this is Game of the Year 2008. I don't think I have any legitimate reason to not die, like, right now. I guess i'll have to find myself an old pre-owned copy of Melee to keep me from boring myself to death.

I got my copy of Brawl on Sunday, luckily I pre-ordered it. When I went in to pick it up there were no regular copies left. A lot of people left disappointed. But again, luckily I pre-ordered and got it. And I'm glad I did.
