You mean like when you draw something then scan it and redraw it in Photoshop to make it look good? Well here the progress:

You need illustrator (or a drawing Computer pen, the use instead of it), Photoshop, a scanner, drawing skills.:p

First, draw whatever on paper with pencil. (no color or pens)

Next, scan it

Next, either import it to illustrator to ink it with pen tool or if u have a Drawing Computer Pen, do it all in photoshop to ink it

Next, Add Color Basic colors to the character(s) in either Photoshop or illustrator

Next, Stay or go into Photoshop and add highlights, shadows, effects, etc.

Next, Add extra effects. (glow, etrxa outline, screen, etc)

Next, add a good BG

:)Done!

I wish I had a scanner. I'm a really good drawer.

Remember to have the layers Blending Mode set to Multiply so the black outlines don't get covered when you apply colors to the image.

Check this site for some tips on scanning: http://www.polykarbon.com/tutorials/scanning/scan.htm
