In Gimp how do you flip a picture around?

you use the Flip tool. I got a picture of it. Just find that icon and click it. Then to use it you just click on your project window. It only flips the layer you have selected though.

You know how in Paint you can remove white areas when you paste, how do u do that on gimp?
