I really like both but E_G's one stick with only one color scheme and it's not very creative while Feed's one is very creative and ''eye-cathching'' so I vote for Feed;)

EG box is simple and clean which what i like for a CE Box however the lack of screens on the back makes it feel empty, and the filter wasn't a good choice to go with, Feed's on the other hand has a large rating which ruins the whole front for me and the 'requires a full version of Diablo' is way to close to the template and the Blizzard Logo should have been centered cause it's just too close to the Rating, the back is well done though, everything is in the right place but the only thing that annoys me on the back is how the Cero or what ever it's name is covering half of the 'system requirements' box which doesn't look good .

F@ck you you @$$holes! What kind of FAIR competition is this, when you discriminate against a person just because you don't like their vote? And I'll have you know I don't know E_G either, Feed, so I'm unbiased. As Sockey said, I'm running on a 56k modem right now, and it looks choppy on my end, whereas E_G's box looked perfect, in my opinion. And that's what this IS Feed, an OPINION!!!! Do you think I liked hearing people tear apart my Animal Crossing box? No. But I didn't demand that someone's vote not be counted just because they didn't agree with the color scheme I picked. If you want some more reasons, your box, Feed, looks crowded, and as was stated by someone else earlier, I don't like the color scheme, and it's still choppy. So f@ck you guys. My vote should count just as much as anyone else's, whether you agree with my pick, which still, by the way, is:

Dark Blue, Blue, and Black can give a feel to a hellish place. Fear is the main feel of hell and those colors would be a great choice.
Anyway...to tell you guys the truth, I don't like both boxes.
EG is look unfinished and empty...but it does look official and original and has a good color scheme.

Anyways, I vote for E.G. Bum buum buuuuum.
Feed's front is VERY similar to the official
(http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/602/d2boxlargeul5.jpg). The back is nice but feels crowded and forced. The screens look poorly scaled and don't contrast much. Whilst EG's has no screens, the entire box in general has a nice, simplistic look to it that works for both Final Fantasy and a CE.
It was close though but the front of Feed's really turns me off in particular.
Dark Blue, Blue, and Black can give a feel to a hellish place.
Blue - cold color. Hell - hot place. So this fails.
Also, when Koppa say it choppy...I don't see it, but that may be, because I using higher than 56k.
How come it look choppy for someone, when its the same image to everyone? If you have slow internet conection - just wait a bit longer.

I think this is a fantastic piece of work. There is so many small details.
All this frames, styled buttons, letters, symbols. It's a real Diablo. Looks extremly official.

my personal taste goes to E_G's boxart, because its sleek, smooth and well plain. Not that plain is bad but it isn't that noisy and occupied as Feed's box does. I like feed's box aswell, but I find it a bit too busy for an boxart, no offence. But it's not my taste, I would have made it a bit more brighter allthough the game is not so bright at all. Afterall my personal taste goes to E_G's box.

It's not about the quality of the pics, they're good, but I have it about the busy, occupiedness ( I dunno if it's a real word) of the box. Those patterns at the sides, I really don't like them.

IMO, both boxes are almost perfect, but i give my voice to Feed. I just love the feeling of the box. It is soo detailed, looks like it was made with extreme caution.

Its obvious where all those fancy borders and frames came from. True you edited them and added your own elements, but they suit more the style of a web template. Your feels "too busy" - especially the front.
However comparatively, Feed's box is better than E_Gs. At least the back cover.

Hell is fearful, so those colors can work.
Red and Orange..is hot of course, but really, that is your basic for Hell, but doesn't mean it should be it.
Also light blue/Blue is cold...I said Dark Blue/Blue/Black...which is a big difference.:D
Like I said, Fear is what I want telling you for a hellish place and for what I was pointing out for to use the colors, I didn't just mean for the acculturate place for that color, but for the feel to the box. I hope you understand my point...
oh ya, please don't argue with me and say "sorry you fail agian cause Hell is hot and it has to be red", cause I know I'm right on my point and you might just be confused about why I told you those colors....I don't want to repeat myself and beside, you box is ok.;)

I think it's stupid to talk what color is hell. Blue, like fears or red like fire. I think that the burning red hell is a classic hell that we all can see in movies, books, games. So red hell is ok, as for me.
I think hell is not a "FEAR", I think it's "PAIN". Pain = Blood = Red = Fire ... Anyway, it's a stupid theme to talk.

It is stupid to discuss about color to use, but I was just making a point that he could use dark blue/blue/black combo instead of the classic Red/Orange combo for the box and still get the same "wow" effect from others. It's doesn't mean he should change the box, it mean it's a option for the future boxes.;)

Both boxes are awesome, but I have to go with Feed. I love his color scheme and I think it convey's the hellish theme well. EG's looks cool, and has a great collectors edition look, but Feed's looks like it took more effort too, so that gets him bonus points. I vote Feed.

Resolution of the box is a bit low. that is why some elements can looks choppy. I think it's stupid. There is no bad jpg compression of this box or some of the arts. I think this choppy thing sounds damn stupid. Sorry if something wrong :)

I was talking with Feed on MSN, and he said something along the lines that Vicarious, who has the exact same IP address as him, is not his alternate account and it's his "brother" voting for him. Let me get this straight, alternate accounts or promoting people to sign up to the site so they can vote for you is what I classify as a fraud.
The admin has implied this kind of thing is not allowed. This means Feed would have to earn more votes than me, so that means I now win. I'm not bending the rules for my own advantage, because I decided this with a few people on AIM. You're still in the comp Feed but I'm going to elaborate on these rules in the next round.

you know, i think that next competition, the person/people hosting it shouldnt be able to compete, for the simple reason that they may change rules so that they win [not saying you are eg]
or people will think that.
honestly, i think that eg's box is far more attractive than feeds. its very smooth looking and a lot easier to read, although with the lack of material on the back, i would have suggested making the font a bit larger to take up room and make legibility even more clear.
for feed i think the box is overly crowded. i hate the border and it really just doesnt add anything. on the back, the font is completely illegible, too small, too squished and just a bad font to make small. that font is meant to be a large font used for titles. not small details. the screens are too small and squished so you cant even see whats going on. i also think that your front esrb might be a tad bit large. in most cases im all for crowded detailed boxes, but your box is overly detailed and it makes it too much. its a decent box, dont get me wrong, but theres too much going on and its just hard to see.

oh and with the cheating thing, i agree that if your sibling is on the site, they are automatically going to vote for you. but with feed its just super suspicious that during this contest his "brother" all of a sudden shows up and votes for him. its just too coincidental. if it IS his brother. great for them that theyre on the site. but the circumstances are just too suspicious, especially being as feed is being super competitive and wants to win his round. you can tell from his posts. so yeah i think it is unfair to count a vote like that.

Well, it is your right to believe me or not, its up to you. And its your competition as well. So do whaterver you want. Ill just enjoy making proffesional looking boxes.
And it's very ironical to see how people act on MSN, ICQ etc. People are always so nice and stuff like that but on public people are
different. I have made conclusions about some people here, someone earned my respect, someone lost it. Anyways, i knew how the contest would end. I knew it from the beggining, from the time Koopa posted his first comment, because i learnd a lot from other threads of this summer competition. Now, i think i would not participate in other competitions or boxoffs. Ill finish this competition the next round and hopefully ill be able to make boxes for myself, not to earn some silly title of the champion.

first off, your box although decent, isn't particularly professional looking in my opinion. which i already stated above. but you sir, have quite the attitude going on and i think you should probably stop now before you get yourself into trouble.

second off, dont make assumptions about people. chances are, unless you know them very well, theyre wrong. and youre being ridiculous over a contest. seriously, just because some people might not think your box is the greatest thing since sliced cheese doesnt mean you should conclude that they are tasteless design-wise and are favoring people over you. maybe they just dont like your box and it shouldnt be taken any farther than that!

Thanks Tales of Symphony, you said what I found hard to put into words. Also Feed would have had to earn nine votes, based on the circumstance, that's why I win. In future the rules are going to be much clearer, I consider this match to be a learning curve.

Hey guys, that made me really angry, when Kopa said that my box is extremely choppy, because i know it is not. That made me think why he said so, and the only answer i found is this - Koopa knows EG a lot more than he knows me, in other words, Koopa voted for EG because they are friends.
In my opinion, that is kinda unfair, don't you agree? Its even kinda rude and mean to call a good boxart "choppy" when it's not just to find a reason to vote for your friend.
Come on guys, lets have a FAIR competition.
And Koopa, some words for you - why didn't you noticed that the logo on EG's box is too huge to fit the front? Why didn't you noticed the canvas texture on the back that is ruining the overall feel? The misplaced letter "E" in the word "features"? The complete lack of screenshots maybe? You see, what you did is totally unfair, man.

I don't know how you guys say Feed's box is choppy - I think its quite sharp and high-res.
I only feel its a little uninspired and unorganised - everything is all over the place. Other than that its great.
E_G's has a great colour scheme, but since he was busy with his exams he obviously rushed it up - and that kinda shows as his box was rather empty and plain in areas.
Both are very good boxartists, but feed was like the obvious choice here, I felt.
Just my opinion. :)

well whatever actually happened Feed, i am still confused why you submitted that box last night, which has basically insulting our judgements on your box, with the words "choppy" all over it and in place of a back description, "unreadable text". And by placing it in unnofficial, you totally made a fool out of yourself. why someone would go and do that over a competition, i have no idea. that's why i said to you "you can't hide from the truth" because that means, the truth is your box had flaws. Both boxes did. Almost every box has at least something wrong with it. in a way, you're like a fanboy of yourself. Fanboys are people who refuse to accept that a particular thing is not perfect, and they say that everything else is bad (one of the most common form of fanboy is a console fanboy). You couldn't accept that your box wasn't perfect, and you tried to make up every excuse you could to try and make EG's box look bad, when his box, ultimately, was better. Why do you take it so personally that you lost? It's just a game. You can't expect to win all the time, because no one's the best. Even if you had won, you probably would've ended up against TwilightMystics, and chances are you would've lost against him, i mean it would take a miracle to beat that guy. I agree with Tales of Symphony - next competition, the person/people hosting it shouldnt be able to compete. E.G. complete is the biggest mistace ever. In this case, I think we all need to declare that competition ruined in some way. Not becoz E.G. is the winner - becoz we talk about this shit for 5 pages. This is realy not fun anymore. We all just eat a lot of shit and don't get nothing in the final result. Just a lot of kids who screams about someones pwnage.
Other problem is that there is a group of ppl who dislike me and Feed as one who supports me. I think this stupid war destroys fair competition.

Okay, this was an amusing thread but come on - it's done. Feed lost, E.G. won, it's as simple as that, move on. No need to go all monkey shit on it. As said previously, it's not like your life is at stake or there is a prize. It's not like anyone will remember that you won or lost a round three years down the line (let alone two or even one).
People apparently liked E.G.s box more and gave reasons. No one is denying the effort put into the Diablo box by Feed, but apparently the majority vote liked E.G.s better - it's as simple as that. No one's out to get you, there is no conspiracy - this isn't Roswell.
