I'm going to vote for Icefox because his looks official and the front looks simple, crisp and clean.
Like Always box has to much background and it said rated M on the back. There also no copyright info and details (Like 1 player, analog control etc) on the back .

Heh, thanks for the vote :)
Good luck to everyone.
I don't like the grey background on the front of IceFox's box, and the lack of copyright text, but I think his box is pretty sophisticated actually. It's clean, good image resolution, and for the most part, it's nicely presented. I vote for IceFox.

Come on, this is not minimalistic. This are just not well made boxes with poor design.
Minimalistic is when you use a damn logo on a gradient background.

quit it, the both of you.
as much as i hate when people use wallpapers, sometimes it's inevitable.. you have to use it as a BG sometimes.. at least edit it, and there's NOTHING wrong with minimalistic designs, i actually encourage it.
You should both give it a rest, and when you comment, don't look at how it's made, but how it looks.

Neither of us just slapped on a wallpaper. Obviously, we used them for images but both of us edited them a lot.
Feed, have you ever seen a Sims 2 box?
And cool on the win, thanks for the votes. I hope to compete with you again.

Kinda seemed like it, my bad, read it wrong.
And sorry about still debating it, criticism that is vague and not constructive bugs me.

loved both of your boxes, only the second one could use less Background, it distracts.
Feed, have you ever seen a Sims 2 box?
No, and i don't want to.

No, and i don't want to.
Then don't complain and say "the boxes are empty" if you haven't ever even seen one.

You really want me to point all your flaws? You want me to expand my comment, right? Well ok, here i go:
On your box:
The text on the back is disgusting. It is placed without any thoughts. The font and the colours of the text are wrong, this would not work as an official box. The screenshots are damn tiny, this would not work either. Then there is an overall color scheme. Grey with orange? Is that a joke? Then, the design of the back cover - it...is empty. One render on the background - not good enough. Then, you have some flaws with sizes of logos (DVD, ESRB). You missed the legal info. You use on capital lerrers.
On Like Always' box:
Goddamn windows default comic font? No. This wull not do the job. The colour of the text is too bright for the selected background, the back is crowded with the screens - no good, there should be some desingn, you know. Poor game info, no legal info, something insane with ratings, poorly cut out loros and renders, poor quality, the box is too small, the presentation is too huge.
Happy?

Yes. Why wouldn't you just post this in the first place?: The point of criticism is to be constructive. Your earlier posts in this thread were terrible as they did not accomplish anything in the slightest. But I refuse to accept your "Too plain" comments on both of these boxes until you actually see what a Sims box looks like.
And I spent around 40 minutes messing with fonts, texts and layout for the texts on the back. The grey looks good to me and most. White would have been to bright, flashy. Black to dark. Yellow is too flashy and blue and green would contrast too much. Red would not contrast enough. If you think about, grey was the logical choice. The placement is good, probably the best that would work for the idea of the box. It works as it is as the point was slickness, not "mad brushing effects."
Yes, I know I used capital "lerrers." Again, it was for design, not to mention that it was a tagline, and capitals are often used for each prominent word in a tagline. So the fault should be that I didn't use capitals on all the words, not that I used capitals.
On Like Always' box:

Nothing wrong with using a default font if it works, though I agree Comic Sans shouldn't have been used. The white looks fine, however. What would you suggest him to use? Black? Black on blue, in most tones (including the one used) would have looked bad as would green, red, pink, orange, etc. Grey would be the only other choice but even grey on blue is shabby. On scale, the screenshots would have only needed to be a little but smaller, not a lot smaller. Poor game info? I think the point was to be short and sweet, give the consumer an idea of what game they are purchasing. Like most products, like_always used a quick and vague description that gets the point across. No legal info, not really a big deal. It takes up a very slight bit of the box and serves little purpose, most of the boxes on this site don't have legal info. The logos are well cut out, though too bright. The logo on the back looks badly cut out, but the white is just the glow. The render on the back has some slight issue with cutting around the hair but it isn't that bad. The box is too small I agree, but the presentation (I'd assume background) is too huge? The website is called VGBoxArt, not VGBackgrounds. Your supposed to be judging the box itself, not the background used.
I'm having a bad day. I don't mind criticism as long as it's constructive and relevant/accurate.
Anyways, I'm done bitching.
