Ey guyz, I've a problem with a tutorial on a broken glass effect..

Click here (http://www.pimpmycom.com/tutorials.php?subaction=showfull&id=1145402831&archive=&start_from=&ucat=1&tcat=adobe-photoshop) for the tutorial..

I don't have any kind of problems till I reach step 7.. where I've to make a layer mask of a shape I created on my image..
When I follow the tutorial and select the layer of the image and the shape, is it impossible to create a layer mask.. Is there something I've to switch on or off..

I tried everything to fix this up, but I can't find the answer..
Some of the things I tried to do:
- First make one of the layers into a layer mask and ad the other
- Looking for layer / blending options that are reletive
But those didn't work, so if you know how to fix this please reply, 'cause I could make a very nice box with this...

I know that's the button to press to make a layer mask, but with both layers selected as the tutorial says I can't click on it...

to make a shaped mask just select a layer you want to mask, make a selection (in your situartion - ctrl+click on the layer with shape. Don't select the layer with the shape. Just CRTL+CLICK) and perss the mask button.
