This one will be rather custom, but so far I have 3 renders done. Here's the first:

Second:

(Changed style)

Now I know by now you are all wondering what I'm going for right now... Well I honestly don't know. :P
I suppose it will be inspired by photoshopfather's Sonic Colors front, you know, the white circle floor with the rainbow background? That's what the front will look like, but maybe even a sunburst effect with rainbow colors... I don't know, but IMO I think that would look great, thoughts?

The Sonic art is really choppy, and his mouth looks pretty strange.

If you honestly don't know where this is going, then forgive me for having a sneaking suspicion that you're doing this just for the sake of making custom art. The first step should always be to have an idea (no matter how rough) of your layouts, front and back. Besides, the art styles for both of your renders don't even match

UPDATE:
New render + Added front idea.
(Ignore the low-quality image, it was just a uploading problem...)

Styles are still clashing. I would reccommend making your own front background---it looks like a bad trip ATM.

First thing's first, get rid of Sonic's mouth, it won't look weird, just get rid of the mouth.

Custom Art for the sake of Custom Art is never a good idea. If you do custom art, you should strive to make it as close to the official art as possible. In this case, it's not even custom art... you're tracing renders that already exist, and would look loads better. Custom Art should be used only for designs that simply cannot be created otherwise.

May I first say "Get rid of Sonic's mouth.", he looks like he's chewing gum. Second this isn't working for your design and speaking truly your design looks just random. I'm saying this but I think Flexx is 100% and that you did this to make custom art for your own pleasure. However, they only work when the design looks like a custom design and actually works with your design. The most I see is just gradients and tracing; a horrible way to make custom art. Try to redo this entire idea with the custom art and perfect the idea of making some before going out and doing it, okay?
PS: Listen to KoopaDasher, he is 100% correct too :)
Also just to spew out some ideas, why don't you take your tracing marks and color them a rainbow, grunge look. Once that's done, give a nice white background, with a Grey gradient. This will give out an design that looks much better and still will have your qualities. Also give a light white over the rainbow gradient gradient.
Just throwing out ideas for you man, and good luck. I am too working on a Sonic Colors box, well was because of computer crashes I lost it and it's tricky. Lastly try to enquirer the idea of the motion in this too. Looks way to still for me to be a Sonic box. Hope you listen to these suggestions.
