Ayron, what do you do? A box dark, noisy, not expressive. Take any art on IGN.com or on Gamewallpapers and work above it. Change a background, its color, shade an inscription, make it more brightly. Cmon, you can beat him ;) :D

However both boxarts are quite unfinished, imo. Logos are badly cut out. And some minor mistakes.

Much better concept.. Ayron your box looks rushed. I know if you had spend more time on it you'd definitly had a much better box.

I like Hajimaru's because it very cool and he used the art from the comic book . I also like it because it diffent from the others Devil May Cry boxarts.

It is not so hard. You just need to sit and make it good. This will be great for the first time. This is the only way to make your boxes better. You can beat Hajimaru's DMC4 box. There is nothing special.
Also, if you want to improve your abilities you should try to do something else, not only the boxes. Everykind of practice - it's a good idea.

i know spike... i try to make some sigs but they just turn out bad.
i barely know any effects.
except for filter gallery and blending options, use only like basic tools.. and know NOTHING about advanced commands etc.

I participated in a different kind of design competitions. I made such a theory was born: there Are 4 kinds of people which create in the Photoshop:
1. Those who perfectly know all the moments in the Photoshop. Knows all opportunities, all effects, all in general. Simply walking encyclopedias. But they have a problem. They are not able to draw, they do not have taste, they colour-blind persons (it is figurative being expressed).
2. Those who in the Photoshop know far not all and use far not its all opportunities. But such people are able to draw, they have feeling of style and desire to do all is qualitative.
And so I concern to the second type of people. I not the genius of the Photoshop. And participating in the same competitions, I not time pressed a hand to abrupt favorites who told to me about any opportunities of the Photoshop. And I pretended that I understand them though did not understand any word. And as a result, I won all of them. Here such here morals.
3. These are those who can all. They both artists and geniuses of a photoshop. These dudes work in the large companies.
4. Those who are able nothing. Type Mav_Wolf:)

So there is no need to do all in Photoshop. To read a lot of stupid 500 pages books. You just need to do a good stuff. And experience will come with time.
