[Octoberfest] Scott Pilgrim vs World: The Game ~ RoarShark

So I have struggled when trying to find a project for the Octoberfest. I finally settled on Scott Pilgrim vs the World: the Game. Now I honestly don't know about the game, but affection and love were strong emotions I got from the film, so I am assuming that it is the same for the game. Love and Affection are the emotions for the front, where as angry is the emotion for the back. On the back I plan on having the seven evil exes so far I have started on Roxie, which is because she will be yelling the tagline "I'm Just a Bit Bi-Furious." Now I have no idea if that line is used in the game or the comics, I just know it is used in the movie. On the front, I am not sure exactly what I am going to do. there are two ideas in my head, one is Scott thinking about Ramona and having hearts around her, the other is Scott and Ramona together on the front. For the front I have started work on idea one. I know there isn't much yet, but the basic ideas that I am going for are on the, eg. Tagline and Ramona and Logo.

I like the concept quite a bit, for the two emotions being shown on the front and back. For the front, I like idea one best, it would really give off a "love and affection" feel. The back, what you have, looks to be depicting anger, and the seven evil exes should work very well for that.

Here is an update, I have opted to do option two for the front, I will be starting work on that soon, after I finish the back first though. As you can see the location where I will place the screens has been identified, the other exes will be on the back in some form, most will be on the same side of the box as Roxie. Info will either go in the middle, or below Gideon. I also might change the presentation of the tagline, I don't know how yet.

The speech bubble looks a bit weird. It looks like a baseball bat or something. It would be better if you made it a lil more normal. Like this (http://s3.amazonaws.com/pixblix_production/art_images/905/speech-bubble-quote-background.jpg) or something, except longer.

Other than that, I still don't know what to think. Most of it isn't done, of course, but I'm not really liking the back from what you've made so far. I really hope you can make it express anger artistically rather than just text that says 'I'm just a bit bi-furious', which I don't think even is general enough to be the main heading on the back. I would make it say something else, but if you do that, then the little way you've expressed anger is gone too.

Yea that is the issue I am running into, I am trying to find pieces of art that in my opinion show anger. About the tagline, I am probable going to change it, but keeping Roxie saying "I'm just a bit bi-furious" just smaller, or as an "hidden" easter egg. As of this moment this shows no emotion in my opinion. That is something I am working on.

From what you have so far, the back is looking somewhat questionable. I'm hoping you can find a way to express anger other than just in the tagline. Like Yoshistar mentioned, the speech bubble does look a little off, you may want to work on that some more. And like I said before, I love the concept you have here, and I really hope you can pull it off.

Here is an update, I agree the back is very much questionable. I hope some of the additions I have added will change that. I need to work on the eyes of Todd, but that is not top priority.

I don't know, lol. In the movie and game and graphic novel he has vegan powers, and so I am asuming that those are his vegan powers. Also here is an update with bg and tagline, and screens.

I like that quite a bit man. The anger is shown more than I thought it would be, and the halftone looks great. I very much like the back.

I never properly finished this box. I want some more critiques prior to the main site submission. So this is what I turned in for the Octoberfest Round One. And as you can tell the front sucks. But the layout is the general idea, so what do you think about it. I am going to add the 7 Evil exes to the front as well. Thanks!

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of it :( I think there's too much of the half-tone stuff. You can tell that you rushed it, as most of your work is a lot better.
