Rendering in GIMP

Let's say you need to render somehting like this image:
http://i46.tinypic.com/96hjx5.jpg
With the Erasing tool and other tools, you can render it out.
First Save the image and open the file.
Next you want to render it.
Copy and Paste your picture into a PNG picture and click on the erasing tool.
As you start to erase the white part, you notice that there is now a transparent background. Keep in mind that you want that to be there. It shows what part your rendering. Change sizes of the eraser to get into small places.Make it bigger to get rid of the bigger parts of the background. When your done everything but the image (in my case, the part Sonic is on)will remain. That means that you have succesfully rendered an image. Final results look like this(rendered by Spiner because I can't do it)

Glad I could help!

Spiker?

Anyways, I use the loop tool. It takes ages if you erase with the erasing tool, and it gives bad result. And no need to save the image in .png first, just add transparency. Then save it as a .png.

And spiner, old sonic doesn't have soles on the shoes.
