Hey! I'm like 2 years removed from the site, but it doesn't mean I don't visit :)

Im applying to art school, and I have an unfinished piece along with 3 finished ones that are in need of some serious criticismsss !!

The one that's not done:

-Untitled (name suggestions) (http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5313/lightbrite.png)

Finished Pieces:
-Dimensions of the Unconventional Urban (http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/7972/dimensionsofasoul.jpg)

-Cosmic Voyage (http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/1665/cosmicnavyfinal.png)

-Children of the Sun (http://tinypic.com/r/6itr2d/6)

Im pretty satisfied with the finished ones... but the one that looks like a Light Brite is like wtf. haha.

Im thinking the words "FREE" written vertically on the top left with the same pattern of the alternate colors of the man. also i dont know what base colors to use for the person...

all suggestions and criticisms welcome!

thank you!

The first could be named "AFaceMadeWithDotsOfHotColorsAndSomeOfthemAreCutOut DueThatTheyAreInTheEdge" (Or some modern-art name) :D
Nice artworks, man, really nice artworks. The second one is my favourite, It has a great flow :)
Hope you enter into that arts school ;)

Really cool artwork, I like your style, especially in "Cosmic Voyage".

As for the unfinished piece, I agree that a Jamaican color scheme would fit the theme well. "FREE" would work perfectly as well. I wonder if you could fit the dot art style into the theme somehow? Freedom could possibly be represented by stray dots "freed" from its host. Like, you could randomly place dots outside of the guy. Just an idea.

Viewing in full I see some dots that aren't fully one color / chopped off to shape the contour of the person's face. I don't know if this was intentional, but it might look better to only have full, unicolor dots.

Good luck getting into that school!

thats a great idea! i want to mae it look like the dots ae converging on to th e person. so it looks like they are going in to fill him in, or like they're exploding off of him...

now the question is, do I i move them individually? create more to put into the scene?

and finally, is there a tool or filter that allows me to make that happen without doing them dot by dot...

im here so faR:
