View Full Version : New Rock Band, and Natal.
yes, more Natal news from me :P
In an interview with Scott Guthrie (http://www.mcvuk.com/features/533/Great-Scott), some boss at MTV Games, he reveals some things, such as they're working on Rock Band 3 (will be released next year) and says they're making another game, focusing on a specific band (he does not revial which band it is) and a Rock Band game that works with Microsofts Natal camera (I haven't read it all, can be one of the already named games)
So for those tent pole releases, what happens after The Beatles game – what’s coming in 2010? Another major artist game? Or Rock Band 3?
We’re exploring both – and possibly will do both. The Harmonix development team are working on what is effectively the next game, or ‘Rock Band 3’. We aren’t standing still – we will keep moving into new areas and look at new technologies that our platform holder partners are also developing, such as Project Natal from Microsoft. We’re working with them to pull some things together. So it’s pretty exciting time for the future of our music game business.

Sounds cool, don't care much about the natal function, but as long as it has RB1/RB2 DLC compatibility like the past two games i'm happy:D

Strange, there releasing Rock Band 3 on Wii although, Rock Band 2 hasn't been released on Wii in the UK.

What would you rather have, Rock Band: Gorrilaz? Possible THE most boring piece of shit ever created?
Oh, and you really, really aren't funny. Stop trying to be. I'll start treating you with respect when you grow up and stop listening to music for twelve year olds.

Too soon? Not really... it actually feels quite a while since the last major Rock Band game was released, maybe because I'm used to seeing a new Guitar Hero game every month. -_-
Besides, it'll probably be out like, June-ish next year or something. It's not like GH5 which is coming out next month.

Gorillaz? They don't have enough songs for a whole rock band. That would be just stupid. Besides, rock band 2 already released a track pack with some of their songs on I believe.
And to be frank, I wouldn't want a Rock Band: Gorillaz or a Rock Band: Four Tet because I like them too much. I don't want to concentrate on the music of Four Tet when it is so beautiful. I just want to listen to it.
I'm not insulting the stuff you listen to at all, (why would I? Millions of people love it, who am I to judge?) I just don't like the style of it at all. You love it and I totally respect that, just don't act like such a hypocrite by insulting the music I like. Because when I even make a small good humoured insult at your music, you're as defensive as anything.
I don't want the stuff I personally consider beautiful because for one reason, it isn't recognized so it would never happen even if I wanted it. But for another, I wouldn't want it anyway because I love it so much. I just want to relax when I listen to it.
I've had a go on some on guitar hero 3 and where as I would never consider buying it, I enjoyed it and I found no problems with the music when playing on a console. I would never listen to it, but it is about concentrating on the notes in Guitar Hero (etc.)
I wouldn't scream in complaint if Megadeth made the front cover of a new Rock Band. I'd play their songs, not because I like the songs but because I like playing on the guitar it provides. It's just good fun.
So in conclusion, consider your words in the future please. It passes you off as a hypocrite when you insult my preferred music and then go all defensive when I remotely insult your's.

Hmm...I guess your right when were talking about major Rock Band games. But in between then and now, three Rock Band games have already been released, one already available, one confirmed, and one in the makes.
- Rock Band Unplugged
- Rock Band: The Beatles
- Rock Band: <insert band name here>
And then after those latest two have been released, it will only be a couple months before Rock Band 3.
I didn't want Rock Band to turn into Guitar Hero and shit out millions of games, but it seems like thats what's slowly happening.

Oh, I love how you go "I lol'd" when I express my desire for a Rock Band game of one of my favourite bands and when I respond you start acting like you respect what I like. Bull fucking shit you do.

(ci) JACK (ci): I've heard the shit greg listens to. Iron maiden or whatever. Horrible stuff
Er, yeah, you are insulting it. Thanks Tanz, by the way. Don't try and get all defensive because you openly take the piss out of metal and you KNEW what was coming when you went "I lol'd" like a cocky idiot. I'm not acting like a hypocrite at all, that's you. I think Gorrilaz are shit and I will openly admit that, I don't say they're shit and then start acting like I appreciate them or anything. In this case, I appreciate differences in taste, not the actual artist.
yeah, like you know ANYTHING about metal. You don't even know who Black Sabbath are, so it's not like I'm ever going to take you seriously for the rest of your life.
I don't want the stuff I personally consider beautiful because for one reason, it isn't recognized so it would never happen even if I wanted it. But for another, I wouldn't want it anyway because I love it so much. I just want to relax when I listen to it.
Right. Because, no one's ever heard of Gorrilaz. And Megadeth are on the radio all the time.
I wouldn't scream in complaint if Megadeth made the front cover of a new Rock Band. I'd play their songs, not because I like the songs but because I like playing on the guitar it provides. It's just good fun.
Erm, that's EXACTLY why I'd like a Megadeth game. Their songs are already fun as fuck to play on other GH/RB games and I've no doubt they would be if they had their own. I wouldn't want one if their songs weren't fun to play.
So in conclusion, consider your words in the future please. It passes you off as a hypocrite when you insult my preferred music and then go all defensive when I remotely insult your's.

(Multi-quote?)
1.) I said I respect what you like. I never said I like what you like. I fucking hate the stuff you like. But I can still respect you like it, you're a clever person, I'm not going to put you down for not liking music you like. That, my good friend, would make me a hypocrite.
2.) Again, no hiding behind backs. I hate the stuff you like. I can't stand it, it's horrible to me. But at least I can admit that it's not openly shit. I know that some people like it and it's all a matter of taste. And for the record, I don't need to be knowledgeable on the history of metal to know I don't like that style.
3.) Misunderstanding. I meant Four Tet, massively underappreciated. Megadeth, a little overappreciated.
4.) I mean, I hate Megadeth. I checked out some of their songs and to me, they're awful. But I wouldn't mind playing a song of theirs on a rock band/guitar hero because I'm not listening for the quality of the music.
5.) No, let's not go back. You insulted the stuff I like openly. That's fine and all, as long as you can admit it's an opinion.
6.) Seems you're a bit pig headed. I never once called your music shit WITHOUT respecting that it isn't in some people's views. I believe it's shit, that doesn't mean it is. You're going back on the rule you fought so hard to teach me.

We could go at this all day. I don't want your bullshit. You knew that was unnecessary and just plain fucking stupid, and you should have expected the response I gave. There should be absolutely nothing about opinion in this. People only use the "it's my opinion" bullshit when they can't think of anything else to say. If you're going to say the stuff I like is shit, you could at least get some credibility before doing it.

Well it is opinion. You can't flat out say, "Gorillaz suck and coz i say so that is the truth". That's what a 5 year old would say. In this case, it most certainly IS opinion.

Wrong info on my end then my bad:p Too bad ACDC didn't get a proper game though but just a track pack disc, would be cool maybe, Rock Band: ACDC or a game a bit more based around classic rock and such.
BTW it's decided, not desited:p
