Even before Nintendo announced it, the DSi has been the talk of the town. According to our Japanese correspondent, the DSi will be 12 percent thinner, and will get rid of the GBA slot entirely. The DSi will also include two built-in cameras (one reportedly VGA resolution) and music playback. The DSi will also add an SD slot and internal storage (we don't yet know how much) to enhance its multimedia capabilities. The screens are now slightly larger at 3.25 inches.Photos can be synced to the Wii Photo Channel.
Nintendo is also launching the "DSi Shop" to sell content directly over WiFi. The DSi will include a free browser application. Prices for the store, which are also tied into the Wii Points, will use 0, 200, 500 and 800-point tiers.
Nintendo has announced that they will be releasing "Wii de Asobu" (Play on Wii) Selections, GameCube titles remade for the Wii. Not including last year's Resident Evil 4 remake, President Satoru Iwata revealed at today's Japanese press conference that Pikmin will be the first title to receive a Wii makeover. We're really hoping this isn't the Pikmin title Miyamoto revealed at E3.

Well, it's no hard drive (then again, it's certainly no air conditioner unit). Nintendo has revealed their answer to the Wii storage solution: Allowing for software to be opened directly from (and downloaded directly to) an SD card. That will now give you 2GB of storage per card swap. We expect a megaton amount of DRM to try and keep the games linked to one console at a time. An update is reportedly coming Spring 2009.

At a press conference in Japan, Nintendo announced that a new Punch-Out!! game will be coming to the Wii. No other news is currently available about it, but we're guessing it'll share some similarities with the boxing stage from Wii Fit.

Although it's only release in America came as a Virtual Console title on the Wii, Sin & Punishment (N64 version, pictured above) has a pretty hardcore following here in the States. Nintendo has announced a follow-up to the Treasure-developed rail shooter. No details are available yet, but those that have played the original Tsumi to Batsu will know that the game is a perfect fit for Nintendo's current home console.
Stay tuned for more details when they're available.
